The .XXX Sunrise will start September 7th 2011, and will be divided into two tracks. One for members of the industry, with either trademark rights and/or prospective rights through pre-owned strings in other TLDs (Grandfathering). A separate track held simultaneously, will be for Trademark rights holders outside the industry. It will be possible to reserve and therefore block domains, so they can not be used.
Sunrise: September 7th till October 28th, 2011
Landrush: November 8th till 25th, 2011
General Availability: December 6th, 2011
.XXX provides reassurance that they are more protected from the risk of viruses, identity theft, credit card fraud and inadvertent exposure to child abuse images.
.XXX provides the opportunity to easily filter out unwanted .XXX material.
.XXX can provide more predictable revenue streams, greater customer retention and fewer complaints as regulators and others will see adult entertainment providers take a proactive and responsible approach to their web presence.
All .XXX registrants will be contractually obliged to follow a set of practices drawn up to provide effective self-regulation of the adult industry: Safeguard children from being marketed or targeted online
Use and promote accurate labeling and meta-tagging Ensure clear and accurate disclosures, security of transactions and contact information
Combat the use of unlawful malicious codes and technologies (e.g. spoofing) Oppose fraudulent, anonymous and unsolicited bulk SPAM advertising adult entertainment
